Come to think of it, they look pretty darn healthy already

October 8th, 2009 Posted in Irritations, Policy and Politics

This heartwarming piece of agitprop reminds me of the time CNN allowed a group of African-American schoolchildren to sing about the pressing need for school choice. Oh, that’s right — that only happened in my imaginary dream-world, where CNN executives aren’t a bunch of economically illiterate pseudo-journalists:

So on yesterday’s Rush Limbaugh show he had the clip of this and along with his usual rant about CNN he played a clip of one of the kids singing the song… His name was Willie Thornton and Kyra Phillips asked,

    “What do you think?

    and Thornton responded,

“I feel personally that we should stay with our current health care system, which is a private plan, because if we did go to the Obama administration’s private and public plan, then not only would the people who are wealthy, they would not only have to pay for their insurance plan, but they’d also have to pay for someone else’s insurance, and then that’s just making them have to spend more money and lay off more people and therefore reducing our economy right now. We’re in a deep recession.”

Rush’s response was, “Somebody is teaching sombody the right stuff, i don’t know if this person learned this at school or home but it was as much truth as i have heard on this debate about healt care.”
